This cottage is at the end of our drive, and sleeps four people. It is upside down having the bedrooms, one a double and one a single on the ground floor. It has two shower rooms - one en-suite - but no bath. There is a second TV in the main bedroom (with freeview Sky). The kitchen has solid wood units, gloss work-tops, stone sink and halogen cooker (for that extra flexibility)There is a seperate lounge, with two leather chesterfield settees. Has sloping ceilings on the sides, (not restricting headroom), making it feel very cosy, despite the good size of the cottage

The cottage stands in its own grounds, just off a quiet county lane, surrounded by a dry stone wall, inside which is the parking area and a modest grassed area. There are 3 cycle/footpath trails within 3 miles, (one only a mile away), sustran national cycle route 54 passed within 80 yards of the cottage as well as footpaths and bridleways within 60 yards of the cottage going in all directions, one of which runs through a nature reserve leading to the River Dove (at Wolfscote Dale). A short distance downstream is Dovedale.

The cottage, one of several awarding winning cottages on this location, has been consistantly graded 4 star Standards of housekeeping are second to none. The owners strive to ensure that guests have an enjoyble stay, leading they hope to return visits!It is not remote being only 350 yards to the local village and pub.

Bicycle hire is available at one half the cost charged by commercial operators, even one electric bike is available for hire. Ready made meals of good quality is available for purchase at a modest cost. This service is not taken up greatly as there are 28 pubs within 7 miles, restaurants, fish and chips shops and hotels nearly all of which the owners of The barn are pleased to recommend!

There are nine(!) information folders in the cottage setting out in a personalised and highly organised manner all the attractions in the area, of which there are more to do wthin 30 minutes drive than anywhere else in the UK. Rentals based on two person occupancy; additional £20 for three persons, £40 for four persons; (£15 and £30 for a short break)
