The Owlpen estate, steeped in 900 years of history, forms its own remote and picturesque wooded valley under the edge of the Cotswold hills. The Tudor manor (1450-1616) stands with its early formal garden of magnificent yews at the centre of a clutch of medieval landmark buildings. Many are now adapted as quite exceptional award-winning Cotswold holiday cottages. Described by the Prince of Wales as "the epitome of the English village... Its character evolved through the slow passage of centuries of rural life."

Our smallest cottage provides a cosy retreat for two, with truly rustic charm. It is a character split-level studio apartment set in the last bay of Owlpen’s listed Barn, converted above the coach house in about 1700. With massive oak cruck beams and principal trusses (like 'A' frames) which date it to the 1450s, this historic building has been completely renovated in the same style as Owlpen's larger cottages.

The nearby Cyder House restaurant is a listed historic building of the fifteenth century, with 'cruck' trusses. A gigantic oak cider press stands in the corner from 300 years ago, when cider feasts were held here. It is a stunning setting, furnished with portraits and Arts and Crafts furniture from the family collection.

The village also caters to those who wish to host a wedding in the beautiful surroundings of Owlpen and has several locations in which the service can be held. These are available via request and rates must be confirmed with the staff at the manor house.

Prices range from £295 to £435 depending on Season. Please see our website for more details.

OWLPEN has long been recognised as one of England's most romantic manor houses. In 2006 it was voted one of finalists in the Country Life - Savills award for "England's Favourite Manor House".
