The Old Mill

This fascinating period Cotswold stone mill and weaver's cottage is set in walled garden with its own little stream, pond and orchard . Decorated with style and described by one [little] guest as 'just like Hogwarts', it is the perfect place for large gatherings with enough living space for groups to come together in comfort or seek privacy and quiet

The layout of the house is impossible to describe on paper because of the intriguing way it grew from its origins as a simple one up, one down stone cottage, way back in the 16th century. Over the years, it has been added to and altered and now has 7 double bedrooms, 1 triple bedroom, 4 ensuite bathrooms, 1 ensuite shower room, a family bathroom and a cloakroom. All beds are zip and link so suitable for singles or couples. Additional sleeping space can be found on a sofa bed in the gallery.

There are 2 sitting rooms, a room for board games, a dining room big enough to seat up to 28 [30 at a squash] and a family room attached to the kitchen. The kitchen is well equipped with modern, labour-saving appliances and there is a separate pantry for extra supplies. All creature comforts are present in an atmosphere that evokes the time that the house was built. This is a great house for gatherings, both in winter when log fires beckon and in summer when the lovely garden is a marvellous place to relax.

The Old Mill, either on its own or taken with the neighbouring property, Blandfords, is the perfect venue for large groups of friends and family to get together. The living space is generous and the layout enables people to separate into smaller groups and enjoy different activities while still being able to come together as a whole, especially at meal times.

Amongst the most beautiful areas of the English countryside, the Cotswolds have much to offer the visitor: glorious scenery, hallmark honey-coloured stone cottages, pretty villages (Chalford, Oakridge Lynch, Bisley, Far Oakridge) and history everywhere you turn.

Oakridge Lynch is a small, friendly village, famous locally for its maze of footpaths. It boasts a school, 2 churches, a shop and a very good pub and is well placed for all the attractions of the Five Valleys and, indeed, the whole of the Cotswolds. Lying mid-way between Stroud and Cirencester and is within 8 miles of Cheltenham [racing/shops] and Gloucester [docks]. Bath, Tetbury and Oxford are all an easy drive away.

From £1210 for a midweek break in low season to £4500 for a week at Christmas. See our website for more details.

THE OLD MILL CAN BE COMBINED WITH THE ADJACENT COTTAGE, BLANDFORDS, FOR EVEN LARGER GATHERINGS
