The cottage was created in 1989 from a group of traditional stone built stables and barns arranged around a courtyard, tastefully and expertly restored by local craftsmen. Many of the original features have been retained such as open beamed ceilings, traditional stone fireplaces and pantile roofs.

This 4 bedroomed single storey cottage has a private garden to front & side with garden furniture, BBQ & outside drying area. Ground floor - Spacious sitting room, stone fireplace with living flame gas fire also dining & kitchen area with dishwasher, washing machine. One bedroom with a king size bed & on-suite w.c / shower; one bedroom with a king size bed; two bedrooms with twin beds; Bathroom with bath, shower, w.c. and hand basin. Easy walking access

The cottage is fitted out to the highest standard of comfort with central heating and double glazing throughout. It is spacious and has been tastefully decorated with coordinated quality fabrics and wood work in teak

The cottage is only fifteen minutes walk from the centre of the picturesque market town of Pickering which has retained its local character and friendly, unhurried way of life. Here you will find a Medieval castle, a Railway Station as well as a superb indoor swimming pool and good local pubs serving real ale and tasty regional dishes for you to enjoy.

Pickering station is the start of the North York Moors Steam railway which wends its way through “Heartbeat” country and where some of the “Harry Potter” movie scenes were located. A short distance away there is heather clad moorland, rolling hills, woodland and forest providing spectacular countryside teeming with wildlife excellent for both walking and touring.

The Vale of Pickering nestles between Yorkshires scenic heritage coast of Filey, Scarborough and Whitby with its sandy beaches and towering cliffs and the Historic City of York with its ancient city walls, narrow cobbled streets and York Minster. The area also contains many fine buildings set In spectacular scenery including Castle Howard, Duncombe Park also the majestic ruins of Rievaulx and Whitby Abbey. Within a short drive from the cottages, you can enjoy visiting stately homes and castles, horse racing, theme parks and zoo, golf, fishing, museums, working farms and breweries, in fact something for everybody whatever the weather.
